CROATIA

In order to attain NATO membership a requirement to have a compatible NATO PSYOPS capability is required and as such a new PSYOPS unit or functional unit has been noted on the net.

Croatia does have a highly effective and established PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICE with the military. It is sometimes difficult to distinguish from PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES activities and the movement towards the creation of a PSYOPS unit - language barriers / translations.

However, the Croatian Army has recently ( November 2012) run an Advanced Course Psychological Operations (Napredni tečaj psiholoških operacija)

In order to attain NATO membership a requirement to have a compatible NATO PSYOPS capability is required.

Developing the capacity of psychological operations CAF is important not only because of their participation in international military operations. It requires planning and implementation of the entire process (seven stages), and is important in supporting a wide range of activities. Psychological operations primarily have the task of protecting their own power and in all environments, and parts of the process such as analysis of target groups (including the analysis of the media) and the assessment of the performance, they are very useful and all other parts of the armed forces.

CROATIA has also had an effective Propaganda function in its Balkan Campaigns.

The Croatian Information Warfare / Propaganda unit employed within the Ministry Of Defence, during the Croatian war 1991 -1995.

The IPD (informativno propagandna djelatnost) was active and appears to be a sub unit within the Intelligence Service (the owl device) - Bottom Left

The Croatian HVO = Hrvatsko Vijece Obrane (Croatian Defence Council) also had within its military formation of the Croatian Republic of Herzeg Bosnia a Information Propaganda unit of the 106. Brigade HVO (from Orasje Northern Bosnia).

The HVO fought against the Bosnian Serbs and represented the Bosnian Croats in the Bosnian War.

The patch TOP RIGHT is the Information Propaganda unit of the 106. Brigade HVO (from Orasje Northern Bosnia).
