CUBA 

Cuba - the perennial thorn in the side of the US, is a highly militarized society.

As a revolutionary, socialist marxist state led by Fidel Castro, the country is dominated by the Revolutioinary Council.

Interestingly for a socialist state, CUBA's military infrastructure does not have as an influential role in the countries governance as say a similar state like North Korea. The military is known as the Revolutionary Armed Forces and includes not only the army, navy and air force but militia and Youth Labour Army elements - emphasizing the highly militarized preparedness of the state against any impending US 'Imperialistic' intervention.

It goes without saying thus that the Military Political Department apparatus of the Revolutionary Armed Forces has as it's main aim the vigilance and preparedness of the nation to stand up agaisnt US Imperialism, and the defence of, and advancement of the popular revolution and socialist state in Cuba.

Not much is known about the military PSYOPS makeup, but it is known that a General Political Department exists within the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces. CUBA is bombarded by US PSYOPS and must have an effective PROPAGANDA apparatus.

It does appear from trawls and research that POLITICAL COMMISSARS don't exist.  One would assume that in such a highly militarized society that such an apparatus would be required though.......... the search continues for clarity. Can you help?
